Transgender people often exclude themselves from utilizing spiritual resources due to religious transphobia. As part of the constellation of spiritual resources available to many people to provide support, ritual provides a way to tell stories and create meaning out of life’s vicissitudes. From potentially changing their name to navigating an often hostile world, transgender people need additional resources to make sense of what happens as they progress through the process of interacting with the world in a new way. ![]() Others use their deep spirituality as a resource to support them through the trials of their transition. Many transgender people experience a lack of resources to support and celebrate their spirituality. ![]()
